Kimono Concert

Last weekend my friend, T, and I participated in a Kimono Concert which as the name suggests is a concert where everyone-the audience, the performers, and the event hall staff-wear kimono.

We had a few hours before the concert started so T and I used the opportunity to visit different places around Kyoto and take photos. It was really fun.

Back at the concert hall seeing all the different colored/patterned kimono and accessories was a real treat.

Look forward to participating in a similar event again.

Last Weekend Walk About

'Nightmare before Christmas' characters outside a house. Strange for Kyoto.

Wonder what's inside...

..."Oh, konnichiwa."

Shirayama Shrine from the outside.

If you are a Buddhist and or understand Japanese I think you'll find this place really interesting as there are lots of historical bits and pieces to look at. As for me, I enjoyed looking at the garden and the tea implements the most.

Sekizan Zenin, Part 2

The 7 Good Luck Gods.

Some lucky charms.

A close-up of a lucky charm.

Skinny decorative bridge.

The shrine where I saw some deer just beyond the temple fence-awesome surprise. It's not often I see wild animals.

Stones on top of a wooden torii (=gate).

Good Luck God omikuji (=fortune)

I spy with my little eye something beginning with 'm'...

'M' for monkey.

And here's another one.

Too cute!

One for the road in the form of a lucky charm perhaps?

The wooden gate to the temple.
