Unagi/Eel for Lunch:)

I've had Kaneyo kinshidon 'to go' before (-see here) but hadn't had the pleasure of eating it in-house.

What was going to be a leisurely weekend lunch was soo delicious and satisfying it was consumed pretty fast:) We-my friend from Milano, D, and I-did linger over the tea though finishing off 3 pots:)

The flow of conversation of me and D, the friendly and cheerful staff, the tatami, and the lived-in feel all made me feel I was at a friend/relative's place in the countryside. What a delight for a rainy and cold Saturday!

A big thanks to D for wanting to eat Japanese unagi and thus bringing us back to one of my favorite local restaurants.
