Udon at Omen

The Omen signs on the street in front of the restaurant.

The noodles, the broth, the ground sesame seeds, and some of the veges.

C's noodles, the sushi, the tempura and the rest of the vegetables.

Mmm tempura.

I went to Omen (pronounced 'Oh men') with C last night.

Omen is well-known for its udon noodles served with vegetables, ground sesame seeds, and a dipping broth. You combine the vegetables and seasame as you like in the broth and then dip the udon noodles in-sooo good.

We ordered the omen noodle sets-one with sabazushi and the other with tempura. They were both really good.

The Omen we visited can be found on the east side of Gokomachi Street just above Shijo Street. It's open from 11:30am. They take the last orders at 9:30pm. The restaurant is closed on Thursdays.

[PLease note the Gokomachi Street restaurant has closed. The nearest one is to this location is on Shijo Street just west of the Shijo Bridge.]
