At the entrance to Komyoin there is a sign in Japanese warning people that the temple staff would like only the people who will quietly enjoy the garden to enter. Also they'd prefer large groups to go elsewhere. Totally agreeing with the first and being a group of 3 we headed in.
The garden was quiet, spacious, and full of sunshine-a relief after being in the crush of people around Tofukuji and all the cold rain of the previous day.

I wish they would have these type of rules at most gardens and temples, especially no smoking and talking really loud.
Hi Kat,
I agree with you there.
